NCP Salford New Bailey – A modern and bright new built car park. 

What happens when you send a professional photographer to photograph a new build car Park. A flagship build, rejuvenating an area of Manchester that needs investment, providing high quality parking for commuters and shoppers alike? 

A part of the NCPphoto project, my commission saw me, bright and early, a few days from Christmas, wrapped up against the cold and wet, with my 3leggedthing tripod positioned on a traffic island in rush hour traffic, collar turned to the wind, framing this incredible building with my 24mm.

I needed to take photos no-one else had. Images for PR, websites and social media. Images to make customers want to park their cars here in the inviting, brightly lit and welcoming, modern and imaginatively designed car park. 

The steel riveted structure is impressive. The cladding colourful and dramatic. Built for purpose but sympathetic to Manchester’s industrial history. The exposed columns are reassuring to view. Strength and beauty combined.
